Unity House is located just North of West Broadway at the corner of 25th Avenue North and Fremont Avenue North. The 17,820 square foot building is currently home to a well-established charter school, the Minnesota Internship Center. It is adjacent to Minneapolis public school North Star Elementary and the Jerry Gamble Boys and Girls Club. Fremont Avenue North is a major southbound artery that is well-served by Metro Transit.

The three-story masonry structure was constructed in 1955. Over the past few years, the tenant has made substantial building improvements including lobby reconstruction, upgrades to existing HVAC equipment, first floor restroom upgrades to meet ADA standards, a new sprinkler system, wiring for data lines, as well as general repairs, painting and upgrades.

In 2007, the building was awarded an “E-rating” -- an important educational facility standard the State of Minnesota uses when funding charter schools.

Our tenant-partner, The Minnesota Internship Center, is a high school for students, especially from the Northside, who have not succeeded in other alternative educational environments. Catalyst Community Partners is working with the School to rehabilitate the property to add more classroom space, fresh building amenities, and a building mural.
